From the top of Les Arcs at 3226 m, a breathtaking panorama rolls down at your feet.
This year, ‘The Aiguille Rouge footbridge’, a real innovation, has been built so that everyone can admire the exceptional beauty. Accessible to pedestrians and children as well as skiers, the bridge is 35 metres long with glass walls at each of the overhangs. On one side, you have a view of the whole Alpine chain in all its majesty. On the other side, you look down on the Villaroger Nature Reserve, an unspoiled site where flora and fauna are protected and flourish. From there, the views of Mont Turia and Mont Pourri are quite stunning.
Drastic measures have been taken to preserve the flora of this exceptional natural site. Led by an ecologist using a centimetre-accurate GPS device, an identification of potentially rare species has been carried out to ensure that infrastructures only go up away from zones where the local flora grows. In coordination with the ONF (Forestry Commission) which manages the Villaroger Nature Reserve, educational boards have been put up on the footbridge to inform visitors and make them aware of the natural treasures the reserve holds.
